We have exciting news! This year, the grade 8 Nova Scotia Provincial Assessment in Reading, Writing and Mathematics/Mathématiques (RWM8) will be written online. A new platform called Vretta has been secured by the Province of Nova Scotia to administer this assessment. Please take the time to read more about this assessment here: https://plans.ednet.ns.ca/sites/default/files/documents/RWM8/Provincial_Assessments_in_Grade_8-Flyer.pdf
Key Points:
- It is important that students arrive on time to school and each class to complete the assessment without disruptions.
- It is imperative that students bring their fully charged device with them if they have a school-based Chromebook or regularly bring a personal device with them to school.
- We would appreciate that any regular appointments are scheduled with this assessment in mind.
- Students should bring a book or magazine to read if they finish the assessment early.
Practice Assessments:
- Practice assessments will be administered on May 5th and 6th during Math and the student’s primary language class.
- English program students will write the literacy portion during ELA, while French Immersion students will write this during FLA.
- The assessment will be administered on May 25th, 26th, 27th and 28th during student’s math and primary language classes.
